What made you realize you wanted to be a writer?

Ever since I was a little kid, I always knew that I wanted to write. I would run into my dad's working office at three years old, and hold up a book I wrote and drew pictures in, fastened by staples my mom would help me with. Then, in third grade, our class had an assignment to write a poem about our favorite color. I worked over it for days, making sure it was perfect. I turned it in, and turns out that it wasn't even requireed. However, I knew that I wanted to write for the rest of my life after that day.
